Yale Pediatrics is one of the nation's premier institutions devoted to improving our understanding the causes and treatments of disorders that effect children through research. Research efforts within Yale Pediatrics include leading basic science and clinical research in many areas, and exciting translational research efforts that bring what is learned at the research bench to the bedside.
Reflecting the considerable research efforts of our faculty, despite the relatively small number of faculty members, Yale Pediatrics ranks among the top pediatric departments in the country in National Institutes of Health grant support. Many members of Yale Pediatrics are recognized nationally and internationally for their contributions to pediatric research, as well.
Another major goal of Yale Pediatrics is to foster the development of the next generation of leaders in pediatrics research. This aim is achieved by providing a rich environment for the training of fellows within the Department of Pediatrics and Yale Medical School.
The exciting advances that are being every day in Yale Pediatrics touch on a wide range of conditions that effect children ranging from premature infants to adolescents and young adults. We invite you to examine the scope of these considerable and tremendous efforts within each Section.
