Child growth and development | Child Health Status | Environmental factors | Genetics

What is the purpose of this trial?

The National Children's Study (NCS) is a prospective, national, longitudinal study of the effects of environment and genetics on child health, growth, and development.  The NCS will follow a sample of 100,000 children, born to women recruited from about 105 study locations (generally corresponding to counties) within the US, from before birth to age 21 years.  By studying children through different phases of growth and development, researchers may be better able to understand the role these factors have on health and disease.
